The distinguished Tuskegee Airmen of the 332nd Fighter Group flew North American P-51 Mustangs with the nose and tail painted a distinctive red. Tuskegee Airman Col. Charles McGee flew 409 combat missions in three wars; he made many of those flights during World War II aboard a P-51 named Kitten, after his wife. This beautifully detailed 1:24-scale model of Kitten was hand-carved from Philippine mahogany and finished and painted by hand. A plate on the custom wooden base bears the signature of Col. McGee. Ages 12 and up. Measures 16.2"L x 18.25" wingspan. Imported.
