The North American Aviation B-25 Mitchell twin-engine bomber was considered to be the most versatile aircraft used by the Allies during World War II. It was used for high- and low-level bombing, strafing, photoreconnaissance, submarine patrol, and even as a fighter. This beautifully detailed 1:41-scale model represents one of the B-25B bombers that participated in the Doolittle Raid in 1942. It is hand-carved from Philippine mahogany and finished and painted by hand. A plate on the custom wooden base bears the signature of Lt. Col. Richard Cole, Jimmy Doolittle's co-pilot in the number-one airplane in the raid. Ages 12 and up. Measures 15.75"L x 19.75" wingspan. Imported.
