727 JT8D Engine Stator Wall Compass Rose

Item No. "667066010545"

Product Details

The legendary 727 trijet achieved a number of aviation milestones: it was the most produced airliner of its time, the first to reach the 1,000-sales mark, and the first to carry 1 billion passengers. Now you can own a piece of aviation history. This artifact is a decorative compass rose constructed out of a stator from a Pratt & Whitney JT8D turbofan engine that once powered a 727 jetliner. The stators, or stationary airfoils, in a jet turbine engine control airflow through the rotor blades. Our craftspeople cleaned and polished the stator and gave it a powder-coated chrome finish. Hand-welded bolts and engine blade parts form the compass points. Custom Hangar keychain and Certificate of Authenticity are included. Measures 30" in diameter x 4" thick. Weighs approximately 28 lb. Made in USA. *NOTE: This artifact is sold as is with no guarantee that parts maintain original function. It is decorative only, not a functioning instrument.*
