The Boeing Store is the official source for authentic merchandise from The Boeing Company, the world’s largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners and defense, space and security systems. Boeing Store offers custom-designed apparel, travel accessories, collectibles, books, toys, custom aircraft furniture, and aviation artifacts at its retail stores and e-commerce site, giving Boeing employees, customers, families and fans a chance to own a piece of the aerospace legend.
History
For many years, Boeing and its heritage companies — including McDonnell Douglas and North American Aviation — ran small employee convenience stores that sold sundries such as aspirin and magazines and a limited selection of logo souvenirs. In 2001, Boeing centralized all company stores under a new subsidiary, Boeing Stores, Inc., to better meet the demand for company merchandise. Today Boeing Stores, Inc., carries thousands of items and operates 14 retail locations; a California traveling store; departments dedicated to wholesale, custom and employee recognition merchandise; and a popular e-commerce site.
Merchandise
Between 1,200 and 1,500 items are offered in each Boeing Store retail location at any time, and new merchandise is rotated into inventory seasonally. Boeing Store buyers work with leading suppliers such as Under Armour, New Era Cap Company, LEGO, Parrot, Skullcandy, Samsung, Callaway Golf and Travelpro to develop innovative, high-quality merchandise. For collectors, Boeing Store offers more than 100 aircraft models, ranging from snap-together kits to executive-quality models that represent current and historical aircraft.
In addition, Boeing Store carries many private-label items, including a series of original books published by Boeing Press. Boeing maintains a high degree of control over its merchandising program to ensure that products carrying the Boeing name reflect the quality and innovation for which the company is known. The Boeing Store merchandise team collaborates with graphic designers inside the company to develop original artwork and decorations for each item. In addition, team members have inside access to genuine Boeing aircraft parts, plans, materials and historical records, enabling them to achieve levels of authenticity not available anywhere else.
Custom Hangar
In 2013, Boeing Stores launched a new collection of deluxe merchandise, the Custom Hangar. Aimed at the most avid and discriminating aviation enthusiasts, the Custom Hangar offers actual aviation artifacts and limited-edition merchandise. Examples include a genuine Boeing 747-400 window frame, cut and polished for wall display; a glass coffee-table built around the engine spinner from a B-52 Stratofortress; and an ejection seat from a F-100 Super Sabre jet that has been refurbished into the ultimate home or office seating. The Custom Hangar collection includes aircraft furniture, wall art, sculptures, and high-end apparel; most of these items were made in the U.S.A. Custom Hangar merchandise is available online at BoeingStore.com and at select Boeing Store locations.
